Run coaching for the back half of the race

Run the race
you trained for.

Most runners fall apart in the last 25%. Temple of the Jog builds athletes who get stronger there — through structured training, honest pacing, and a plan that respects your life outside of running.

The approach

Three things we never skip

No plan survives a life it wasn't built for. These are the constraints every Temple of the Jog schedule is built around, regardless of distance or ability.

Consistency beats intensity

A moderate week you can repeat forty times beats a heroic week you can't. We build volume slowly enough that missing it never becomes the plan.

Cadence before pace

We fix how you move before we ask you to move faster. Most injuries we inherit trace back to overstriding, not overtraining.

Recovery is training

Easy days stay genuinely easy — slow enough to feel unproductive. That's what makes the hard days repeatable instead of a one-time gamble.

Matt Kuncman, RRCA Level 1

I've been running for over five years — three marathons, more than fifty half marathons, and not a single injury in that stretch. That record isn't luck, it's the plan: patient volume, real recovery, and never chasing a workout that isn't worth the risk it carries.

That's the same plan I coach. I work with runners directly, building schedules around the race on your calendar and the body you're actually training with — not a generic template with your name pasted on top.

Questions

Before you reach out

A few things people usually ask before booking a call.

Do you coach runners training for the Brooklyn Half?

Yes — the Brooklyn Half is one of the most common goal races I build plans around, along with the NYC Marathon and smaller local races throughout the year. If it's on your calendar, I can work backward from race day.

What parts of Brooklyn do you cover for in-person sessions?

I'm based near Prospect Park, so in-person coaching is easiest for runners in Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, Prospect Heights, Ditmas Park, Kensington, and Flatbush. If you're a bit further out in Brooklyn, reach out anyway — it's often still workable.

Do I need racing experience to start?

No. Some runners I work with are training for their first 5K, others are chasing a marathon PR. The plan changes based on where you're starting from, not the other way around.

What's the difference between Online Training and 1:1 Personal Coaching?

Online Training is a remote plan with weekly check-ins and message support — ideal if you're outside Brooklyn or prefer flexibility. 1:1 Personal Coaching is in-person, session by session, for runners who want hands-on form and pacing feedback near Prospect Park.
